Beaumont, Texas had its first Mural Fest in March 2022 - I was able to get an electrical box, within bicycling distance of my home. In September 2022, I began a 7,000sf freehand work in downtown Beaumont, for a refinery design firm. I was among the surveyors who laid out one of the mural's elements - a coker unit - at a local refinery. Never would have guessed I'd be painting it on the wall of the firm who designed it.
At Beaumont mural Fest 2023, I was chosen as a featured local artist, and painted all four sides of an 8' x 8' cube. I chose to create a tribute to the life and times of Texas' beloved Bum Phillips. In the process of painting this and having it posted by festival-goers, I discovered that I'm Bum's third(ish) cousin by marriage, and was overwhelmingly flattered to learn that his daughters and wife really like the art, and said that Bum would love the horse!
My next project is the main exterior wall of the Groves Activity Center.
I have openings for murals after completion of this project, and would love to hear your ideas for your home or business!
Downtown Beaumont mural progress - halfway there!
